its the tough days that make me find appreciation in life.
do you feel me here?
i am typing this blog after about 4 hours of working on a graphic design project,
and about an hour of relaxing with my roommate – talking about life, theology, and music (you know, the usual).
today is a crazy day – and is only going to get crazier.
tonight might be an all night event for me, finishing up this project and typing a couple papers.
but it is making me realize how much i take for granted…like, calm and easy days.
now, i will be the first to admit that most of this stress is being brought on myself,
i could have worked on these projects and essays a week or so ago – but i put them off.
i admit it, i am a procrastinator.
but at the same time – there is a certain sweetness to stress.
hear me out here.
one of my favorite quotes is from Martin Luther King Jr, when he spoke:
only when it is dark enough can you see the stars
There is a point in life where things get dark, multipul points in fact, and all we must do is look up…and remember the sweetness that is just above us.
remember those days that are just delightful, and meaningful, and relaxing.
and WORK for your future reward and glory that is in Christ Jesus.
such powerful words, such meaningful truth in that.
what do those words mean to you – what do they speak to you?
have you ever been in a moment where this quote became REAL?
I’ve been living in that moment for YEARS now. So I don’t know if it’s much of a moment…it’s been a while since I’ve had calm, easy days –to say the least. But I know that when I go at some point in the future, hopefully, it’ll be one of the most amazing feelings ever. I definitely won’t take it for granted.
It is hard to know what is next even with a set plan. Completing something can show that if you look at it long enough you know it is not done and it has become some sort of vanity on its own. :)
