Coexist

We are all part of God.
Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, Islamic, Buddhist, Atheist, Wicca, and all other faiths.
We all serve the SAME GOD, and need to tolerate each other,
and everyone else’s beliefs.

We are all on a mountain and we all have our own view,
our own path,
and our own sight of who “God” is.

Allah is great and mighty,
My Emmanuel will come and save you along with me,
Jehovah is your savior as he is mine,
Enlightenment is everyone’s at the end,
and Jesus saved you, just as Nature shows me that I am one with Creator.

I think it is time we stop,
put our differences aside,
and COEXIST.

Really?
Is this how it is?
Or do these people have an idea that is completely wrong,
and maybe are just LAZY to sharing the Gospel to these people groups.

I think that in scripture and in the world
it is very obvious that God (the one, true, Christian God) is making himself known.
He is very obviously showing that HE ALONE is real,
and has sent himself (His Son) to die for the sins of those who would believe in him.

“Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, ‘I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness because you will have the light that leads to life.’
The Pharisees replied, ‘You are making those claims about yourself! Such testimony is not valid!’
Jesus told them, ‘These claims are valid even though I make them about myself. For I know where I came from and where I am going, but you don’t know anything about me. You judge me by human standards, but I do not judge anyone. And if I did, my judgment would be correct in every respect because I am not alone. The Father who sent me is with me. Your own law says that if two people agree about something, their witness is accepted as fact. I am one witness and my Father who has sent me is the other.’
‘Where is your father?’ They asked.
Jesus answered, ‘Since you don’t know who my Father is, if you knew me you would also know my Father.’
Jesus made these statements while he was teaching in the section of the Temple known as the Treasury. But he was not arrested, because his time had not come yet.” John 8:12-20

That may be a lot to read or take in…but let’s digest this one verse at a time,
see what Jesus was saying, and why the Pharisees where so awe-struck as to the claims Jesus made.
(And what’s this “His time had not come yet” business?)

Let’s look at verse 12 “Jesus spoke to the people once more…”
Why would Jesus seemingly RANDOMLY claim to be a Light, of all things?
A Light? What happened to Lamb, Warrior, Prince, King?
Jesus was simply walking along with some Disciples, and “Teachers of the Law” (Pharisees) and saw some menorahs in some windows around town.
Back in the day and even today, the Jewish people celebrated Hanukkah.
Basically, Christmas for Jews… minus the Christ part.
They had a central candle called the “Shemash” (She-Mosh) that was the center candle of 8 on the menorah.
When Jesus says “I am the Light”, He literally said “I am the Shemash”.
The culture back in the day would light the Shemash on the last day of the Celebration of Hanukkah.
The candle represented the coming Messiah.
Jesus was literally claiming to be The Messiah.

Hence, verse 13. When the Pharisees got all angry and said “You are making these claims about yourself! Such testimony is not valid!”
Basically accusing Jesus of blasphemy. (The highest form of belittlement in the Jewish faith).
To claim this, especially in front of Pharisees, would immediately result in the arrest and stoning of the said person.
For Jesus to claim this was a HUGE step.
But look what happens.

Verse 14, Jesus tells the Pharisees that his claims are totally 100% correct… because He knows that He is right.
After all, he is God.

The Pharisees then ask Jesus the question that will leave them speechless. “Who is your Father?”
Wow.
Now its time for Jesus to be a stud
and drop the bomb on their argument!

Jesus quotes some of the Pharisees’ scriptures (The old testament) and tells them (basically) ‘hey…uhhmmm my argument is valid because I am testifying both on behalf of my Father in Heaven, and myself’
Jesus was quoting Deuteronomy 19:15 – “One witness shall not arise against a man for any sin or guilt that he may commit; according to two witnesses or according to three witnesses a matter shall stand.”
The Pharisees were accusing Jesus of blasphemy,
Jesus returns their argument with scripture, and then clears his record.
Not only does Jesus debunk their claims,
but he also tells them that THEY DO NOT KNOW GOD.
These are men who have spent their whole lives studying scripture,
Giving sacrifices,
and following “The Law” as closely as possible.
Yet, they do not know the very God they claim to be worshiping.
Wow…what a stud.

The most impressive part of this whole section of scripture is the last part.
The Pharisees are speechless and simply stand there.
And the writer (John) says that “He was not arrested because his time had not yet come”.
Basically, the Pharisees saw the true, awe-inspiring side of Jesus,
the SAVIOR. And could not debunk his claims.
They saw that the things he had said were true.
And simply… stood there.

This is not the only time in scripture that Jesus “blasphemes” or is accused of it, at least.
There are many other scriptures that go along the same lines as this one.
Jesus saying something,
getting in a debate with the Teachers,
and then walking away… un-arrested and un-stoned (with rocks… and drugs).

The simple fact of the Matter?
The Bible is the most accountable of all the “Holy books” ever written.
If scripture (and law) states that a man’s testimony can be held as true if two people witnessed it,
then I would say that 43 Authors, in 6+ different languages, over a span of 1500 years,
spanning over a land the size of the known Roman World back then…
and it all points to one single point, one man, one act in time. (Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection)
Then we can logically claim that this Holy Book is the most accountable book of all time.

If you consider that most (if not all) other holy books are written by one man who has claimed to have a “vision” or heard the “voice” of God…
Yet has many things that do not match up in it…
We can say that those books are truly not inspired by God.
The Koran was written by one “prophet” (Muhammad) and it was written over 23 years,
when confronted about the changes in thought/anger/aggression in the Koran,
Muhammad claimed that “God (Allah) had changed his thoughts, and told Me (Muhammad) to leave the rest as it was.”
The Koran is also supposedly written in “perfect Arabic”…
but there are historic records that show that the whole language itself had to be changed,
due to the grammatical and spelling errors in the Koran.

I won’t get into the other faiths,
but they go along the same lines.

The truth my friends,
is that Jesus is THE way, THE truth, and THE light.
He is not just “one path” on the way to the “Universal God’.
He is THE ONLY path to the ONLY Living, True, Active, Loving Father.

(NOTE: This does not mean that we are not called to LOVE these people still. We do need to do that. We need to show them what TRUE Gospel is…not Judgment and hate…but Love and Grace. But there are clear differences to Coexisting/Toleration and Loving them like Christ.)
